I purchased a class 3 code signing certificate from Thawte Inc. I am able to
sign and time stamp vba projects following Thawte's instructions. The signed
files open and run macros without alert with the system clock set 2 years
forward. The signing routine always fails in the following cases: A long
password is entered in the VBA project properties box where we lock it for
viewing; The vba locking password contains special characters (eg. §); When
the project is not fully compiled (I like to save the workbooks with
uncompiled code to reduce the stored filesize approx. 35% for up/down loads.
This seems to be consistant in Excel releases 2000, 2002 and 2003. I hope
someone knows. Please post.
Thank You.
Sincerely,
