Code to automatically approve task updates

Does anyone have code or a utility that will approve task updates without
user intervention? Essentially, we are looking for a solution that
impersonates each user and approves all task update request in a batch
process.

We will gladly use rules if you can tell us how to make them execute when a
task update request is submitted or at least on a scheduled basis. I have
been monitoring post on this topic for 8 months. There seems to be great
confusion among the experts about whether or not rules are truly automatic.
We do not consider rules automatic if a person must click on a button that
says “Run Rules.†I you can instruct us on the setting that allows these
rules to truly function in an automatic function, you will be our hero.

In Project 2007 you can make people the approver for their own timesheets...
I think that may work.

I think the QueueReviewTimesheet method in the Timesheet web service
can handle this for you by setting the Action parameter to "Approve".

Any other thoughts Chris regarding my last post. By the way, we are not
using timesheets. These are task updates generated from the My Work pages.
