Codepage in Excel 2003

Hi,

Does anyone know how to find out the font codepage in use in specific Excel
cells?

I have a spreadsheet where lines alternate between Russian and English.
Code() returns the char code for the first character in the text string - but
the number range is the same for both Russian and English text.

You might be able to find the unicode codepage number for each character
using a Byte array from VBA,
but I have not tested this approach to see if it works.

Hi Charles,

Yes, having checked Excel help for codepage revealed no significant
suggestions (to my question) beyond Char() and Code(), i suspected that I
would have to use VBA code to test this function.

I dont want to edit the Russian or English text, just enable conditional
formatting to hide or reveal lines with either language.

Obviously the codepage in effect on the PC OS affects the char set range
that is used when keyboard keys are typed, but i dont want to make changes to
the text in the spreadsheet - just test the codepage for each text cell.
