Collaborate | Publish All Information is greyed out

Hi,
I have installed Ms Project Prof 2003 on server running Ms Project Server
2003. It used to work great, however actually there happend something bad to
it (not sure, maybe I have changed something in the meantime and forgot or
some other server admin did it), that I cannot do any update, because
"Collaborate | Publish All Information" is greyed out (and "save" is only
offline).

What's strange, the test of the connection between server and client (in two
places: user accounts and server address settings in MS Proj. Prof.) is
successfull... And of course users also can connect to the server from their
workstations (with MS Proj Prof 2003 installed) and make their updates on
server successfully. There is ONLY problem with the client ON server
machine.

Does anybody have idea how to fix this ? This is very important for me,
because the client on the server used to work very quick (updates took about
a minute, not half an hour or so), which is big advantage.

thx

Paul,

I have tried to reinstall Proj Pro (even with profiles removal from the Win
Register, so needed to recreate them from beginning), but it didn't change
anything.

I couldn't find MDAC allowing Server 2003 installation, however I
reinstalled SQL Srv 20k SP4 (which I believe contains MDAC), which didn't
help.

However, I'm going to try install Win 2003 SP2 tomorrow (actually it works
on SP1).

Other users of Proj Prof on server noticed the same problem.

What's more strange, I have clone machine of this production server (from
disk image), which worked also fine, until I installed there latests
database backups (Ms Proj and two WSS 2003 databases)...

Thanks a lot for suggestions, do you have any more ?

regards,
bidzis

I have a similar problem with 2003 , except I have no "Save Offline" option
in the File menu whether I open from PWA or from PRO or manually or
automatically logged into server. Just like you, I can publish, open, save,
and more, but my toolbars are all hosed up. I have done extensive research
and all of the MVPs seemed to be stumped on how to fix these tool bar issues
and yours is very similar to mine - missing options. I re-installed Pro and
it didn't work. I am the admin so I doublechecked that the global permissions
are right, I have installed all the service packs for Pro, Server, and SQL.
Nothing works. My only remaining option is to trash the entire machine and
have Pro re-installed on a new computer. My company can get a new machine
installed for about $600 and they have spent about 3 times that already with
all of the time I have spent trying to figure this out. It appears to one the
big mysteries of Project Server 2003.
