Collaboration -> Update Project Progress causes Visual Basic error

MSP 2003: From within the project plan, a user clicks Collaborate -> Update
Project Progress. The PWA Update page never opens. Instead, this error
message appears:

Visual Basic Error: Cannot execute code in design mode
I have searched Google for this error. I did not find anything relevant to
MS Project.

The user can access PWA from their local machine, so the IE settings are
correct.
The user can also publish project plans without any errors, which makes this
problem very confusing.

Hi Adrienne,

It looks like a page loading error. Could you try this in another
computer? Also you said users are accessing PWA.
However have you tried loading the task updates page from this
computer? How it worked? Look at bottom left corner of the IE window.
That might give you some kind of warning message. To me, it looks like
an activeX control or java script not being allowed to run on IE. So
please ensure the ActiveX and JS setting on IE.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,
Ravi.

Hi Ravi! Thanks for your response.
Internet Explorer never opens. The same thing happens on all computers.
Since the environment is very controlled security-wise, I'll need to check
the ActiveX and Java settings in Internet Explorer.

Please do a review of IE setup against ActiveX and JS. Hope this would
eliminate the suspected items out leaving footprints :)

Thanks,
Ravi.
