Collapsing document windows

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

My new MacBook Pro is connected to an external Apple cinema display. My Word documents that are open on the display only (not the ones on the laptop display) are collapsing to 1/4-1/2 their width when I open the window from any other application. Any ideas?

This is a bug they are chasing.

I assume that you have applied Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac 12.0.1 Update

Last week I upgraded to MS Office 2008...

Is anyone else having an issue of active windows vanishing after you return to the application after say copying and pasting from a file to somewhere else?

I'm doing reports now, and when I copy and paste from say Excel or Word to somewhere else, then return, the window has usually vanished...

If you haven't saved the file and attempt to "close the window" it will reappear giving the option to save first, but will not reappear if you have just saved it... before going elsewhere...

Any suggestions?

I'm running OSX 10.5.3 and the latest updates of Office 2008.

Sounds like you might be running Spaces.

Don't

Office 2008 is not compatible with Spaces.
