Color Labelling

Jay

Outlook 2002 includes a new facility to color
appointments with specific label colours. I can't get
these colors to display in any of the calendar views.

What am I doing wrong?

Color labels work only in day/week/month views. I can't
think of any known problems with them.

In a previous version of Outlook, a Category could be
assigned a color and then any appointment which was
assigned that category was displayed and printed in
color. I don't know why MS removed this feature. If it
ain't broke, don't fix it!

Two different types of color coding are possible in Outlook calendar -- automatic formatting in table views and, in Outlook 2002 and later, per-item color labels in a day/week/month view. Which one do you have in mind?

Automatic formatting in table views works fine.

What I can't seem to get working is the per-item color
labels in a day/week/month view.

I've set Outlook to display in the original default
day/week/month view, created a new appointment, including
setting a label colour. When I save & close this new
appointment and return to the D/W/M view, the appointment
is still not colored.

Completely stumped, Sue. Any ideas?

I'm stumped, too, since it's always worked perfectly in Outlook 2002 and 2003 here. It might be interesting to know whether you see the problem in a different calendar folder.
