Color lost in new message signature

My laptop Outlook 2003 is set up to incorporate a signature into new email
messages. The signature that I created via Tools-Options-Mail
Format-Signatures contains a line w/ my name in 18pt BLUE bold Brush Script
MT, and 3 more address lines in regular 10pt Arial. I also have specified to
include signatures w/ all new messages.

When I create a new message, the signature appears correctly in every way
except color: the color reverts to black and losses the color blue used to
create it.

I sure would appreciate your help in getting the blue color into my email
notes. This seems to work fine on my desktop, and I don't see any settings
differences on my laptop.

What is your message format, Rich Text or HTML? Plain text messages cannot use formatting.

Are you also using Word as the message editor? If yes, do you have a Style defined in Word that is overriding your email choice for signature formatting?

Milly, I am using Word 2003 as my msg editor. As far as I can tell, I have
no Word Styles defined anywhere. I do know how to use them.

I just realized my desktop was set to include signatures only on replies &
forwards, while my laptop only includes signatures on new emails. Setting
both to include signatures in all email, the color appears fine in replies,
but lost new msgs from both machines. When I rt-clk on a new msg window
toolbar the "Customize" option is grayed out, while on the reply msg toolbar
the option is active. Both types of msgs say they are HTML. Clearly format
specs are different for new and reply msgs, but I can't find where this is
spec'ed.

I stopped using Office/Outlook 2003 when the 2007 beta came out so I am a little rusty on navigating its options dialog. When you check tools->options->mail format->fonts in Outlook, what do you see as your choices? Do you have "always use my fonts" checked?

"always use my fonts" was checked. Sooo, I tried changing the font color to
something besides Blue and, guess what, it worked. In fact, very color except
blue seems to work. But when I go back to blue, it comes up black on the New
Notes. This is wierd!

I never thought of using a different color before, particularly because it
worked ok for replies. I'll just have to remember not to use blue I guess.
