Color of invisibles.

I find the invisibles helpful when formatting a document. In the last version, I was able to select the invisibles color. Now I can't choose a color. The default bold blue is distracting. Is there a way of choosing a less intrusive color for the invisibles?

As far as I know, it has never been possible to customise the colour in any
of the versions of Word for Mac. That being said, the colour has indeed been
changed from grey to light blue; unfortunately, there is no way of changing
it back. Be sure to send your feedback to Microsoft by clicking on the Send
Feedback about Word entry in Word's Help menu.

Hello Anne,

I agree with Michel concerning previous versions not allowing customizing of
the colour.

Given the impossibility of changing the colour, the next best thing could be
to only show the non-printing characters that you really can't do without --
for example, you could leave the paragraph marks visible but not the marks
for spaces between words, and/or tabs. I don't have Word 2008, so I don't
have Word menu => Preferences => View => Non-printing characters in front of
me, but I imagine the choices could well be the same as the options for
previous versions.

Personally, I can't stand these impediments to the text; I key Command-8
whenever I want to see the underlying formatting and key it again when I've
finished. But I realize I'm in the minority here...

Cheers,
