color pens and hilighters only show black

Color pens only show black, no other colors. Help!! i am running sp2, on a
toshiba tablet pc,.
windows journal shows all colors, as well as other programs.

I did, judt now...same result, any highlighter, and or color pen only shows
black.
The screen however shows color..(note created..shows red)
tried every possible tab in video...monitor..high
contrast...resolution...refresh...to no avail
