Colorsync/ICC color profiles

How does Word X deal with images that have ICC profiles embedded? I
produce images in Photoshop that have embedded profiles, but they
appear to be ignored upon import into Word.
Is there a preference or other setting that needs to be enabled for
profiles to be recognised?

Hi Mark:

No, no colour management at all in any MS Office products.

Word will ignore and retain the profile.

The input filter for raster graphics is shared across all MS Office
applications. It is limited to 24-bit RGB colour. There is a rumour that
48-bit colour is coming to the PC side soon, and if it does so before Office
2004 ships, we'll get it too.

However, we will not get colour management: it's a major change and it's
simply not a requested feature for Office apps.

Cheers
