Colour applied using Organise Tool wont change back

Hi,

I have a user who, during training, and in order to practice, set all the
emails from one person to appear in red. When she tried to change it back to
Auto, or Black, the change was not applied. However, when the tries to
change the colour to any other, such as Navy or Pink, that works.

This is not the first time I have seen the colours that are set using the
Organise Tool 'stick'.

Any ideas as to what is causing it?

Remove the Automatic Formatting rule from;
View-> Arrange By-> Custom...-> Automatic Formatting

I'm having a similar problem with the default settings in colors. Now, my
emails won't retain the bold face when they are sorted into two folders for
my two different email accounts. Would the same solution work for me?

Remove the Automatic Formatting rule from;
View-> Arrange By-> Custom...-> Automatic Formatting

You mean they won't show bold when the message is marked as unread? Yes,
same setting.

figured out a work around by not using autoformatting and having all my
unread messages come in black and bold. It seemed to work, but i think the
email from microsoft telling me that you had responded didn't stay bold
faced. I'll watch it closely. Is there another way to delete the automatic
formatting?

Is that what you meant by "remove?" I haven't received any email yet to see
what happens. Can't wait!

I realized I cannot uncheck the defaults. Then new mail was not bold faced.
You must have meant to remove the ones added on.

Unchecking would have the same effect. The "Unread messages" appears at the
top and has a font that is set to Bold

When all things fails reset your view on the folder which is in the screen
where you click Automatic Formatting

Roady,

Did you mean to unchecked the boxes that were created or all of them?
Neither of those suggestions seems to have worked. It works some times and
then not for others. I thought you meant createa new folder for the emails,
so I tried that, but just got a message that was not bold faced.

what do you mean by reset your view on the folder. I looked on the screen
where automatic formatting is, but don't see it. Remember, I am using Outlook
2002.

Organize customizes the view - if you move messages the view in the bnew
folder doesn't use the customized view from the other folder.
