Colour Palette in Forms and Report Design

I have installed Access2000 on two PC with Windows XP.
On the first one (Desktop) I have no problem in defining
the fore and back colour of any field or of the form.
On the second (Notebook), whichever colour I select for
the fore and back (all colours are visible and selectable)
I get black for the fore and white for the back.
I suppose that on the second PC I got problems with some
other program having changed the definition of the default
palette, but how can I discover which program was and how
to correct the problem.
