Column Counts

I have a Report where the Column will have one of these
four values..."O","+","#" or "X".

How can I "Count" the number of occurrences of each of
these ("O","+","#" or "X") in the Report Footer?

Generally, the best way to do that is to create a Totals
query that calculates the desired counts. Then create a
report based on that query and use it as a subreport.
