Does anyone know if cells can be rotated 45 degrees.
For example, I have a row with a different item in each
of 5 cells. I want to be able to show a correlation
matrix above the cells. That is, I need cells where I
can show the relationship between 1 and 2, 1 and
3, ....., 4 and 5. The relationship cells will simply
hold a + or a -.

Please help

Depending on your version of Excel, certainly in Excel 2000,
probably in Excel 97, not in Excel 95.

Format, cells, alignment,

you may want to turn on borders as well
