Column heading is numeric. How to change to Alphabet?

This seems to sneak up on a few people...

Tools > Options > General > uncheck R1C1 refrence style >OK

and if XL2007 check out this option at Office Button>Excel Options>
Formulas>'Working with formulas'> R1C1 reference style
