column in Excel does not SUM

Very odd. A speadsheet we use all the time has one section that will not SUM.
The "total" cell shows the correct formatting, and we have even cleared the
formula and re-entered it in, but the cell still shows "zero" for the answer,
rather, (in this case) 60.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Formatting the cell to number doesn't change a text entry into a number.
It will still be text.

Ok, we had to go thru cell by cell. You were correct when you stated that it
might be something other than a number in the cell. The catch to it was the
problem cell was on a different page in the workbook. In order to find it we
had to delete info from each cell, one by one, and re-enter it manually. Once
we caught the dot in the cell where it should not have been, and cleared
it... the formula started working.
Thanks

You're welcome. If you have a lot of cells you need to check, you may
use binary sort to find it quicker. Try to sum 1/2 the cells, if that
works it is in other half, sum 1/2 of the cell in the half that doesn't
work, etc till the culprit is found.
