Column order in query

C

Chelle

Hello,

I've set the columns up in a particular order for a query
but when I run the query it doesn't come up with the
columns in the place I put them.

If I had 5 columns labeled in the query A, B, C, D, E;
when I run the query and the spreadsheet pops up it can
come up C, A, D, B, E and then the next time D, E, B, A, C.

I've corrected the column order in both the design view
and the datasheet view and saved yet every time I pull it
up I continue to get a strange order.

Any help on why this could be happening?

TIA,
Chelle

Dear Chelle:

As Mr. Vanderghast has told you, the datasheet is not a good "finished
product." However, there's another angle to the question.

If you change the widths or sequence of the columns as you are viewing
the datasheet then, when you close the datasheet, a dialog will appear
asking if you want to save your changes to the format of the query.
If you do, then the column widths and sequence will be saved, and
reappear next time as you changed them. So, if you want the original
column order back, change them back (drag and drop the columns using
the column headings) and save the changes again.
