Columns working independently

I'm trying to get two columns on one page and have the columns work
independently of one another. Right now if I hit the tab button the other
column gets all screwy. How do you get the two columns to work independently?

I don't know what you mean by "work independently," but if you use a
table with two columns, you can do whatever you'd like in them,
separately.
