Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel On a Windows computer it is possible to introduce columns part way down a page by clicking a "from this point on" box on the column selection page. One can later return to a full width, single column format on the same page, or later in the document, by doing the same thing. How do I do this in Word 2008 for Mac?

Same thing on a Mac:

Behind the scenes, Windows Word is adding a "Continuous" section break at
the point where you clicked.

In Mac Word, select the text and say "Two columns". You will see it add the
section break for you.

Cheers
