COM add-in development language C# or C++?

Hi,
I am looking to develop a COM add-in for Excel. Right now I am
looking for the suitable implementation language. I have sorted out
two options C# and C++ and now confused between these two languages.

I know that C# is much easier to work with but I have heard that there
are performance issues with C#. Is the performance hit noticeable in
case of C#?

Is there any issue with any of the above two languages (C# or C++)
particular to the Excel add-in development in COM?
