COM Add-In not working! Need suggestions.

Looking for suggestions. Our office runs Win 2000/Office 2000. I have downloaded and installed the Places.dll Com Add-In. I can get to the "Set Places" section on the "Tools" menu, but after making changes, hitting "Apply" & "OK", nothing has changed. Am I missing something? Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi,

I need to customize the opening of certain doc file
through Office applications. The idea is to prevent the
document from opening. I want to put my code in between
selecting a file thru OPen file dialog and actually
opening it.

Hi Gaurav

Can't be done effectively. What I mean is there are ineffective ways, they're ineffective
because they are easy to bypass. You may be better of with a PDF file, but you can just
about reverse engineer and edit anything.
