COM Add-ins

Hello,
The "Analyse Timescaled data in Microsoft Excel" button is missing in my
"Analyse" toolbar. Is it possible to run a Project Pro 2007 setup, just to
repair this lack, without installing everything : project, SP1 ...etc
Thanks for your advices

Thanks a lot Jim,
Your blog is very interesting, but the ANLYST.DLL file is not in my
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ directory.
All the other DLL are there but not this one.
Can I copy this DLL from another computer or download it from a web site?
Thanks again

ADJDATE.DLL
CPICOFF.DLL
PERTANL.DLL
But I don't find ANALYZTS.DLL. Where is it ?
Thanks again

Hi Robert,

The Analyze Timescaled Data in Excel" is not in Project 2007. It
has been replaced by the Visual Reports. I would doubt (although I
haven't tried) that you could install a COM Add-in from the previous
version of Project.

The COM Add-Ins in Project 2007:

Adjust Dates - Adjdate.dll
Compare Project - Compprj.dll
Copy Picture - Cpicoff.dll
PERT Analysis - pertanl.dll

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie,

I have two Project Server 2007 : one French and one English (on different
machines). The problem is on the English one. The French Project Pro 2007
has its beautiful "Analyze Timescaled Data in Excel" button in the Analyze
toolbar! So, where is the truth? I'm puzzled.
The Visual Reports are so messy, especially when we ask for a weekly
timescale, that I would prefer the old feature.
Thanks for your involvement.

Hi Robert,

I didn't realize that the French version still had the Analyze
command. It is not in my English (US) install of 2007. The command
is on the analysis toolbar in Project 2003 (and earlier).

Thanks for the update.

Julie

Julie,
The Analyze Timescaled Data in Excel works well on my French version : I
used it yesterday, but I don't know why it is working ;-(
Actually, the ANLYZTS.DLL is *not* in the \Office 12\ directory besides the
other .DLLs.
It is on another partition on the same disk, as the remaining of an old
setup of the 2003 version. I think I succeeded (unintentionally) in creating
a very strange mixture of 2003 and 2007 which is working fine.
Nevertheless, I'll install the Infrastructure Update...
Thanks again
Robert

Sorry for the late reply, it is a time zone thing.
The location of the .dll does not matter, as long as you can browse to it. I
have the English version P2003 and P2007. THe Excel Add-in does not show for
me in P2007 even if I add it, The visual reports work fine and accomplish the
same thing.

Hi Jim,

Just to clarify -- are you using the 2003 COM Add-in successfully in
Project 2007?

Sorry Julie, no I cannot. I am able to browse to the Analyze Time Scaled
Data in Exccel add-in and click "Add" but not able to get it to appear on the
Analysis Toolbar.

Hello Jim,
I tried the same operation on my 2007 English version with the same result
as you : nothing appeared in the Analysis Toolbar.
So why I have it in my French 2007 version, without doing anything?

Thanks for the clarification Jim. I thought if you were able to get
it to work it might help Robert out too.

It looks like you get an added bonus. Is it working correctly for you now?
There is an MVP in France, his name is Gerard; let's see if he posts. I
doubt I can be of any more help since I have only the English version.
