Combination of keys

In Microsoft word when I want to delete section of a sentence I highlight
the section and press Backspace key.

Now I’m not able to use Backspace key to delete, instead I have to use
Delete key.

I can still use Backspace key if I want to delete letter for letter. If I
want to delete highlighted word it doesn’t work.

I think what happened is when I cleaned my keyboard I press combination of
keys that change the setting.

Nothing is wrong with the keyboard. I need the combination of keys so I can
use Backspace key the way it was before.

I know it is minor problem but it is driving me crazy because I’m so used to
using my Backspace key.

From the Tools menu, select Options. Select the Edit tab. Make
sure that there is a checkmark in "Typing replaces selection"
