Combine and Decode attachments in Multiple related Messages

I am new to the Mac OS X Platform having used Windows for the past 20 years.
I was wondering how to Combine and decode MP3, mpg, asf, rar, and other
files from multiple messages in newsgroups. In Windows Outlook Express all
one had to do was highlight the messages then right click to get a menu and
then click on combine and decode. The messages would be downloaded decoded
combined and one could open them in what ever player was compatable.
Di I need to set up a separate file and then how do I combine the separate
attachments?

While Entourage in itself makes a formidable email/PIM program, it
lacks any "extra" news reader functions other than receiving, sending,
threading, and filtering. To do what you are trying requires a
dedicated news reader. I have tried them all that were listed on
versiontracker.com and I like Unison the best. See signature for link.
They offer a 15 day free trial. After that, favorites are disabled, and
a 10 minute limit is imposed.
