combine office 2007 and outlook 2003? with one note and visio?

I want to use office 2007, outlook 2003, onenote 2007, and visio 2007, but I
haven't found a way to do that which will let me update the products. I am
running vista and it doesn't seem to detect the different items. It only
shows office 2003??

Is this a new "feature", you always could run office 2003 and a different
visio or whatnot.

Thx!

The obvious answer would be for you to purchase the Office 2007 suite. When installing the new Off2007 make sure that you only check the options as to what to install in the Custom mode when installing.

I appreciate the response but that is not the solution that will work for me.
I am testing this out for business purposes and I already own office 2007.
We don't allow outlook 2007 on the exchange servers so that is why I need to
use outlook 2003 for now.

Hi Jake,

Where are you looking to 'detect' Office 2007? There aren't any MS Office 2007 updates available yet through
http://udpate.microsoft.com

The MS Office updates are based on the product package, not on the features currently turned on or off in a particular MS Office
product suites, and the core shared DLLs are offered as 'Office' updates for each version.

The choices on updating for deployed Office 2007 products are starting to be filled in topics in the Office 2007 resource kit at
http://microsoft.com/office/ork

Thx Bob,
So you think there should be no problem using all of the office 2007
products with the exception of outlook? I have onenote 2007, visio 2007, and
office 2007 enterprise versions. Outlook can't be upgraded yet though, so
that is my issue.

I was wondering why the installed products wouldn't be updated, but since
you mention there are no updates, that makes sense :)
Thx,
Jake

Hi Jake,

Other than being able to use Word as the email editor for Outlook 2003 (and that interchange of data capability) the mix should work
okay, although when switching between 2003 and 2007 apps there may be a 'preparing to install' dialog seen each time as the Windows
installer resets which set of pointers/registry entries control between the 2003 and 2007 versions.
