Combine or merge

Denny

I downloaded a Cisco stencil of my router then pasted a few pictures of ports
on the stencil so it correctly depicts my particular router configuration.

How do I combine these into a single picture now? I tried to combine them
via the Shape-Operation menu but I lose all the graphics and get a simple
outline.

I tried to group them together, but when I drop the stencil on my drawing,
the Original Cisco stencil is huge and my added pictures are small.

Thanks,

Denny

Hi Denny,

See if you can "open the group" and paste your stuff inside.

Select a shape, then choose Edit > Open Group (or something like Edit >
Open Cisco Blah Blah...)

Now you can paste your images inside! But watch out for a bug. Sometimes
when you paste, the pasted shapes end up way down, and to the left. So
zoom out to find them and move them to the correct location.

Or - easier - have the Size & Postion window open. When the object is
pasted into an open group it is, at that point, selected. Its (crazy)
position shows in the Size & Position window. Simply give x and y position
within the window (0,0 usually suffice)

Alternatively, as I discovered (see earlier post), one can set Behaviour
properties of the object to drop into a group; set the target group's
Behaviour properties to accept dropped objects.
