combine project planwit different non-working day

Kelvin

Hi,

If I have 2 project plans coming from different countries (A & B) and they
have different public holidays, can I still have a combined schedule with
seperate non-working day?

Example
Country A, public holiday is 1st Jun

In the combined project schedule under Country B, the task are not affected
by Country A non-working day.

Hope I'm making sense. :p

Thanks in Advance.

Hello Kelvin,

Sure thing. The project files each contain their own calendar
definitions. So Project A will have 1-June as a non-working day in
either the project calendar or the resource's calendars. Project B
will have 1-June as a working day. Each project will obey its own
calendar or the calendars for the resources assigned.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie,

Thank you for your reply.

I guess I might be doing it wrong.
What I did previously was to paste Project B (tasks and schedules) into
Project A to create a new combined file. The result was Project B adopting
Project A's calendar.

What do I need to do to get the result you mention?

Thanks.

Hi Kelvin,

You can create a consolidated project by inserting the projects (A &
B) into a new project. Open a new, blank project and set the project
start date to the earliest start date of either project. Click Insert
Project and browse to select both Project A and ctrl + click on
Project B. Click the insert button to insert both projects. No need
to copy/paste :)

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
