Combining Multiple Project Files

A

AJ

I created three projects that are all related, lets call them A, B and C. I
then created a 'master' file and inserted the projects to the master. I want
to make a task from project C a predecessor from project A. But aparently
you can't do that. So I would like to 'combine' all of these files to one.
But I can't figure out a way to do that without entering and linking all the
data again. Is there a way to combine project files?

Hi

You can link activities of different projects if these are inserted in one
common file. But these should not be inserted as read only files.

In the master file, in the Gantt chart view select the activity that is to
be the predecessor. Press 'Ctrl' key on the key board and select the activity
that is to be the successor. This helps in multiple selection. Now press the
icon of 'Link tasks' from the drop down menu and the link would be created.
You will also get this option from Edit pull down menu. This is how you can
link activities of different projects. These external links will also get
reflected in the individual files.

I hope it helps.
