Combining Multiple Projects

Hi All

I am new to MS Project and I am using Project 2003. I have a question about
combining multiple projects. Is it possible to have the tasks from each
project (or subproject) shown in a different colour, or displayed with a
prefix (e.g.:project 1 task name, project 2 task name) when viewed in
calander mode?

Thanks

Robert

One at a time:

1. Different colours ... not by default. Assume you start a subproject
file and set the colours on the tasks and then save it. When you insert
that subproject into a Master project, any colours you selected in the
subproject will not be brought into the master project.

It follows, therefore, that you will have to do your colour assignments in
the master. By extension, any colour coding you do in the master is not
propagated into the subprojects.

2. Calendar mode ... very easy:
2a. View | Calendar (you have to do this because the format commands
vary depending on the view selected)
2b. Format | Bar styles. Click on the bar type you want (choose "All"
just to do this test). There's a box near the bottom. The field title is
"Field(s)". In this field enter "Project, name" (no quotes) and you'll see
the project name and the task name.
