hello,

i'm trying to combine two excel data sheets.
The first Data sheet has 15 columns and arround 40 000 rows.
The Second Data sheet has 3 columns and About 1000 rows.

the second data sheet has equations that look like this:
A1 A2 A3
EVENT1 = EVENT2
........and it keeps going with these type of equations.

In the first data sheet i have all te left hand side of the above
equations, ie EVENT1 and its properties.

i would like to combine the second data sheet into the first one by
inputing Event2 in the above example under EVENT1 and copy the same
properties as EVENT1.

I REALLY NEED HELP WITH THIS.
Thanks in advance

If I understand properly:

In sheet(1)

you neeed to name the current range as follows eg:

MyDatabase=Sheets(1).Range("$A1$A1:$P$40000")
Could be better if you Sort in ascending order Sheets(1) Column 1, if
Column(1) holds "events1"

then go to sheet(2)
select D1 and insert the following Formula:

Vlookup($A1,MyDatabase,2,false)
E1=Vlookup($A1,MyDatabase,3,false)
F1=Vlookup($A1,MyDatabase,4,false)
G1=Vlookup($A1,MyDatabase,5,false)

and so on until R1=Vlookup($A1,MyDatabase,15,false)

then copy from D1 to R1000
and paste this in sheet(1) as value, down of MyDatabase Range.

see You!
