Combo box fills all records

My combo box shows fiscal month choices and autofills another field with the
date the fiscal month ends. This works. But, when I make my choice, save,
and go on to the next record, my choice shows up there also.

One choice on one record is filling in all records with that choice.

This will typically happen with an *unbound* combo box - i.e. one with nothing
in its Control Source. The data is not being stored in the form, of course;
it's stored in the table, and only in the table! An unbound combo on a form
displays the same value for all records, because it's not tied to any field
nor to any record.

Make sure that the combo's Control Source is the name of the appropriate field
in your table, and you should resolve this problem.

put the date in the field from the combo box?

That sounds like you have a form and you have vba code.
That's not a tabledesign question.
If you change the rowsource of a combo box via code, this affects all
records in the form. If you want a special setting depending on the
data in a special record, you will have to change the setting in the
current event of the form.
If you have a control without a control source coming from the record
source of the form, the value of the control is shown in all detail
sections (for all records).
