I have a combo box on a table that is referencing a field from a different
table. The order of the items in the drop down list is displayed in the order
that data was entered in the other table instead of alphabetically. Is there
a way to make the data in the list appear alphabetically?

Yes; base the combo box on a query sorting by that field.

Open the form in design view. Select the combo box and view its properties.
Click the ... icon by the RowSource property - if Access offers to create a
query, accept the offer, and add all the fields that you want to include in
the combo. Select Ascending on the "Order By" row in the query grid under the
field that you want to sort.
