ComboBox & Record #Deleted

Rick Brown

I've attached (linked) Access 2000 to the MSDE database for Microsoft Retail
Management Software. I linked it via Get External Data|ODBC and all tables
in MSDE now show in Access2000. I want to be able to edit records in the
Items table. I created a form, changed the properties so I could not delete
or add records, and denied access to the Item number and description. The
only fields that can be changed are 6 Price fields one check box.

I added a combo box with the wizard for the Description field, added "Order
by" to the row source so I can type the beginning of the description and see
all items beginning with that text, click on one, the form populates with
that record, I change a price, click in the combo box and type the next
description, etc.

My problem is that, during that session, if I return to any of the modified
records each field shows "#delete". If I exit Access and get back in, those
fields are still there, so they weren't deleted.

How can I correct this? I've searched the news groups and have seen a lot
of "Combo Box #delete" discussions, but they don't seem to relate to my
particular issue, at least as far as I can understand.

Thanks,

Rick
