Command Bar arrangement

I have created a Command Bar in Excel 2007 that contains four drop-down
menus (each with several buttons and sub-menus) plus four additional (ie not
on the menus) command buttons. This works just fine. The menus/buttons
appear in two rows (the top with the drop-down menus; the bottom with the
the seperate buttons) across the screen. I would prefer these all to be
arranged in columns rather than rows and have managed to achieve this in the
past - but I cannot remember what I did to achieve it! Guidance on
arranging the command bar in columsn would be appreciated.
TIA

cheers

If you created a commandbar AND custom menus in XL2007 then these
appear on the 'Addins' tab of the Ribbon. The custom menus will be on
the left side, the commandbar on the right side. Are you talking about
how they align? If these are the only custom menus then they should be
side by side on the tab. If there's another custom menu that was added
BEFORE yours then your commandbar will be on the top row, your menu
will be on the following row. IOW, the Addins tab gets populated in
order of custom menu/cbar creation and listed top to bottom.

So.., the solution is change the order of files being opened so your
menu/cbar appear on the same row, OR add your custom menu to the cbar
so they're all together on the ride side of the tab, OR make each top
menu on your cbar a custom menu so they align on the left side in the
same row.

Thankss Gary,

Yes, it was created in XL2007
Yes the Command bar appears on the Add Ins tab.
A Custom Toolbars appears aligned to the left.
Each of the Menus (drop down) is strung out left to right across the Custom
Toollbar - in a single row but not occupying the full screen width..
Below the Menus appears another row containing the individual Button that
are not part of the Menus.

I would like the menus to appear in Columns (three per column fits) - I have
had it before but I cannot remember how!

cheers

What columns? Where are the columns? (cbars/menus don't have columns!)

Do you mean menu group separators? These are set by the 'BeginGroup'
property of the menuitem where you want the separator placed.
