Command Button

Hello,

I have two databases both with various forms and command buttons however in
one database the edges are round which looks much better than those in the
other database which are square. I imported the form with the rounded
buttons but these appear square once they have been imported.

Both databases were built and are still currently in Access 2003.

Does anyone know why this happens and how to create the round edge effect?

Many thanks,

Martin

Open the database that has the square edges.
From the menu, select Tools, Options and select the Forms/Reports tab.
Check the Use Windows Themed Controls on Forms.

You also will want to check Windows Control Panel.
Appearance and Themes, Change the computer's theme.
You will want to select either Modified Themes or Windows XP.
This should be checked on all computers running the application.

Hi Martin,

Don't qoute me on this but I think it might have something to do with a
windows setting. I know exactly what you are talking about because it's the
same way where I work. I have square button but someone else could open the
same database and have the round edges with a blue ring around it.
Unfortunately, I never looked into why just making an educated guess. If you
cannot get help from here, try calling your IT deptartment.

Hi,

Thank you both for your responses. Klatuu - you were right, I changed the
option in the Forms/Reports tab and that worked. One last question!

Is there a way to ensure that option is ticked when the user opens the
database? I know in Excel you can change the settings in the options box
from a macro so wondered if you can do the same in Access/

Thanks again,

Martin
