Command disabled

Hi,

I've got a problem with my Office 2007 (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
The 'Display Recent Document' is diabled. In the option tap, it says
'Your administrator has disabled this command currently'

But how come? I log on as the administrator already.
Can anyone help me solve this problem?
Without this command, I find it very inconvenient. I have to keep opening
folders for my daily accessed files.

I look forward to any helpful reply.

Best regards,

Did you install Office as administrator? This might be the issue maybe.
Rightclick on the setup file and choose "run as administrator". That way no
matter how you log in the options should all work.

Hi Maurice,

Thank you very much for your reply. However, there appears another problem.
After I rightclick the setup file for the 'run as' command, there is NO
administrator account for me to select.

I have an account with my name 'Ricky' and with account type 'Computer
Administrator,' so I selected that one. After the installation completed, the
command is still disabled with the same message.

What can I do now? Please help me.

Best regards,

Assuming you have Windows XP:
1. Log in to Windows as Administrator.
2. Click on Start | Run | Open: regedit | OK.
3. Navigate to the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
key.
4. If the NoRecentDocsHistory key has a value of 01 00 00 00, then
either change the value to 00 00 00 00, or delete the
NoRecentDocsHistory key.
5. Close regedit by clicking on File | Exit.
