Command for * to the end of the line

I'm not exactly a new Word user, but was a Word Perfect user for years
and years. Word Perfect has a command, Alt, F7, that allowed a used
to underline to the end of the line. This saves a lot of time in
tabbing to the last tab. It always assured uniform lines at the right
margin of my forms/documents. Is there a similar function in Word? I
have questioned many Word users, but no one has found an answer thus
far for me! Please help.

There is no Word equilavent to WordPerfect's Flush Right command. You would
have to set a custom tab at the right margin and tab to it to achieve a
similar effect.

Hi,

Shift+End will select the text from the cursor location to the end of
the line and then Ctrl+U will underline it - not sure of any quicker
ways to do this in Word. You could record a macro and assign it to
the Alt+F7 keys (if you didn't need the command they're assigned to at
the moment). Others out there may know of a Word standard short cut
key to do this.

You can get a list of Word shortcut keys by going to Tools > Macros >
Macros and changing the "Macros in" box to "Word Commands". Scroll
down the list and choose "List commands" then press Run. This will
create a document with all Words commands and shortcuts - comes in
handy!

Cheers,
Tammy

Easy to do, a little hard to find :)

Set a right tab where you want the underscores to end.
Menu Format / Tabs
Select the tab position (if there's more than one)
Select the leader style you want. The options are none, dots, hyphens,
and underscores.

BTW - I found this by first Googling in 'groups' for "tab underscores";
found a reference to the word "leader". Then went back to Word HELP and
looked up LEADER. I remembered that it had something to do with tabs,
because years ago I did a table of contents filled with dots between the
text and the page number.
