Command To Not Hyphenate Certain Words

I'm afraid I'm looking for help again - using MS Word 2003.

Is there a way to permanently (default) stop hyphenation of certain
words without having to just give the "don't hyphenate" instruction
every time it comes up. For instance, we don't want ever to hyphenate
any months, peoples' names that come up all the time, company names,
etc. Can we, for instance, somehow input the names of all the months
somewhere so that it will never hyphenate, etc.?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Create a character style defined as "Do not check spelling or grammar" and
apply it to those words. See

Thanks very much for your help again, Suzanne, appreciate it. That
looks like a whole lot of work but hopefully we can figure out how to
use styles from your excellent instructions (we don't use them at all
- at least that we know of! We are just word-processing and most of
the bells and whistles on MS Word are way beyond us!)))

Thank you again.

If the specific words in question are few, you might want to save them as
AutoCorrect or AutoText entries after applying the "Do not check"
formatting. A caveat in that case would be that, after such an entry is
inserted, the setting at the insertion point might still be "Do not check,"
so you'd need to be careful to press Ctrl+Spacebar to reset the language
formatting before typing further.

Only a dozen for the months of the years, of course, but
unfortunately, there are hundreds of peoples' names and company names.
We'll just have to keep our eye out for them as we have been, I think.
Thanks very much again for your help, Suzanne.
