Commas remain after saving as tab-delimited when importing to entourage

I can't seem to import my excel database without gaining commas. I
have repeatedly saved the worksheet as a tab delimited format and then
imported them into entourage. Yet, even after going back in and
removing all commas from the excel sheet and then re-importing as
saved tab-delimited format I STILL HAVE THEM IN MY ENTOURAGE FIELDS.
It wouldn't be that big of a deal, but I have 10,000 contacts and at
least a 1/3 of them have commas. What am I doing wrong here? I
thought I would only have to save the excel file as tab-delimited and
entourage would recognize the data as being separated. Any help would
be appreciated.

thank you

Pardon my confusion, but I'm unclear about a couple of things from
your post:

1) When you say you're "gaining commas" are you ending up with more
commas than are in your XL sheet? Where are the commas?

2) How are you removing all commas from the excel sheet?
Edit/Replace? If so are you replacing them with anything?

3) Do the commas show up in your .txt file?

4) What fields are the commas showing up in?

Perhaps a small example of what your data looks like in XL when you
save as Tab delimited and the way it imports into Erage would help.
