Comment errors

Twice now I have had a comment, after I have entered text, become frozen on top of the spreadsheet thereby obscuring everything below it.
I am unable to edit it, I cannot delete it (even if I delete the cell it was created for) and it is covering up data.

Any ideas?

Are you using split panes? Do you have the preference set to always show the
comment rather than the comment indicator? Bu "below" I assume you mean
"under." What happens if you go to Excel View preferences and change the
way comments are displayed?

Dear Bob,

No I am not using split panes and changing the preferences does not change anything.

What I mean is that the comment becomes frozen open on top of cells. It looks as they normally do when they open except that they seem to have become unattached to any cell and they don't close.

I can't delete them.

Catherine

Then it appears that your worksheet is corrupted. If you are able, try
opening it on a windows version of Excel where the error detection and
correction is better than on the Macintosh.
