Comment feature in Word 2002 & 2003

I do not like the way Microsoft has changed the Comment Feature in Word XP
and 2003. The layout and functionality in the Word 2000 was just great with
the split screen review at the bottom and the ability to record with a
microphone.
The new setup destroys a documents print layout unless you modify how
comments are printed and I haven't found how to voice input my comments.
At least make the old method an option for us.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?UmljayBDYXNleQ==?=,
I haven't found how to voice input my comments.
Search the Help on "Record a comment", then choose the item on
inserting comments. Excerpt:

"Insert a voice comment

If your computer has a sound card and a microphone, you can record
voice comments. Voice comments are added as sound objects inside
comment balloons.

On the Reviewing toolbar, click Insert Voice .
Record the voice comment.
If Microsoft Word displays a message asking whether you want to
update the sound object, click Yes.
For information about recording and editing a sound object, see the
documentation for your sound card and microphone"
The layout and functionality in the Word 2000 was just great with
the split screen review at the bottom
In order to use the old comments interface, put the following line
in a macro and run it:

WordBasic.insertannotation

Even at this late date, I cannot suppress my dislike and frustration over yet
another poor design choice and worse implementation. First, I agree that the
layout is lame. Combining the comments with the rev marks is fundamentally
wrong-footed. MS products should do what I ask, not what it thinks I want.
It's simply a confusing result. Worse, it just doesn't work well. Sometimes
the document and the comment window are in sync, sometimes not. The whole
feature is just unusable. As a result, I actually go to my old
Windows98/Office 2000 computer to do rev tracking and comments; Word 2003 is
just that bad.
