Comments in PP

A friend regularly edits PP presentations that I sent to him where he
adds comments to certain bullets. For some reason I don't see his
comments. Is there a setting that I need to change?

Thanks for any and all help!

Hi,

I bet your friend has PowerPoint 2003. There was a change in the way the
Windows version of PowerPoint so that comments added in the Windows version
breaks compatibility.

This was an act of sheer stupidity on the Windows PowerPoint side of the
house. If your friend digs deeply into the help he will find instructions on
how to change PowerPoint 2003 so that the comments work correctly (the OLD
way). Fortunately, the old way remains available in PowerPoint 2003. Good
luck finding it!

Maybe someone who has Windows PowerPoint and knows the secret to restoring
the comment feature will ump in.

-Jim

He's probably using PPT 2002 or later. MS changed the way comments are handled
from that version on but didn't apply the same change to the Mac PPT versions.
"New style" comments from PPT 2002 and up are not visible to PPT 2000 and
earlier, or to Mac PPT versions.

There's nothing you can do about it unless you have access to a copy of PPT
2002 or higher running on a Windows PC (or on Mac under VPC or the like)

A couple of suggestions here:

Convert PowerPoint 2002/2003 comments into PowerPoint 2000 comments

So, does anyone know if the comment issue has been resolved in Office 2008 for Mac? If they did, I might actually upgrade. That stupid bit of non-compatibility has caused me more headaches than you can imagine...

Hello Steve - Sorry, I'm not with it. Could you educate us on what you mean
by the "comment issue"?
