Comments in Word 2002

I've lost the ability with this version of word to have commented text
highlighted. How can I turn this feature back on?

And furthermore, I used to be able to pass te mouse over commented text
and the comment would pop up in a balloon. Now the only way I can find
to read it is to have the option turned on to have revision in the
margin. Otherwise, I cannot ssem find a way to read the comments.

HELP?
