Communicating with Outlook users

I posted the following a couple of days ago. Does anyone have a response?

It's my understanding that communicating with Outlook users using HTML is
problematic. My brief experience indicates that font sizes are never correct
between the two platforms. One article I read suggest that until Entourage's
HTML engine is "fixed" in the new release that it's best to use plain text
when emailing an Outlook user.

Outlook has a feature that lets you select an email address and make it so
that all messages to that address automatically go out as plain text. I
can't find that feature in Entourage. If Entourage doesn't have this
feature, is there a way to accomplish this task in Entourage?

Hi Hal
You can change the message format to plain text if you click on the ab-ab
button above your text on the left side in the e-mail message.

I'm aware of that feature. I was wondering if there was a way to "automate"
it for individual address book entries, which is what you can do in Outlook.

The problem seems to be in Mac users having trouble with PC mail being
small.

See these rule examples "Make Font Larger for PC Mail"

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/rules/example/rule010.html>

Rule: Character Set

Check for Windows recipients using category and change Character Set.

Assign categories to the senders in your address book who use Windows-based
computers to send and receive e-mail. Then, go to Entourage (or Edit) ->
General Preferences. Click on the Address Book tab, then check the option to
"Automatically apply sender's categories to messages".

If you don't have the Windows category assigned to your Address Book
contacts, you might want to use the Criterion in Rule: Increase text size
and Action to set Character set Western European (Windows)
