Communicating without Project Server

How do I email the project plan, assigned tasks, reports etc to people in my
organisation if we do not have Project Server. I would also like to be able
to receive tracking information from them by email.

If you know of any learning resources on this topic that would also be very
useful.

We use Project 2003.

As for the pdf suggestion, do note that Adobe Reader 8 has a free pdf writer
embedded.
