Compact and Repair Problem

I have user defined Database. When am login as admin and on exclusive mode,
still it doe'snt compact and following error comes :
Cannot open database................with users defined ......\

It may not be a database that your application recognises or the file may be
corrupt. But it opens up database if choose OK. on pressing Help it shows
Error 3049.. I have with defined each and every thing and was ready to
install but stuck up here.

Are you trying to compact while others are using the database? You can't do
that. Everyone must be out of the database when you compact.

You say your are 'on exclusive mode' - how are you determining this?

SIR, Since am testing on my system, there's isnt user except admin. I have
opened access database and then gave open file (my file) as open (Exclusive
Mode button) . But still doe;snt it works. Was it essential to encode/decode
database after defining user security rights. If yes, what is meaning of
encode/decode database and what are effects.

You don't need to encrypt the database after securing it. I missed the part
in your initial message about corruption. Have a look at
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm

You may need to create a new mdb and import everything from your old one.
