Compact and Repair

Scott

I have an Access 2002 BE database, nearly 650 MB, sometimes when I want to
compact it I get the following error:

Cannot open database 'C:\DatabasePath\MyDB.mdb' . it may not be a database
that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.

When I click OK to the above massage and I try again Tools, Database
Utilities, Compact and Repair Database it runs as usual.

Now my question is if this is a sign of corruption, or as long as the DB
does compact itself it's no problem at all. ?

Thanks,

Scott

Yes, that is a sign of corruption. However, so far, it's been
successfully recovered. For more info on possible causes, of which
there are many, see the Corruption Access FAQ at my website.
