In in the process of developing an access application, i am constantly
saving changes to forms, reports etc. The mdb file size tend to grow quite
quickly. What I do is every now and then (when it grows to 15 mb) I do a
"compact and repair" to clean up the database.
What I do is:
1) close access make a backup of db (copy and paste mdb)
2) compact and repair.
Every now and again, after compacting, some of my changes gets lost!! For
example, a test form I have created for testing/debugging will reappear and
events on form buttons will get lost.
I am pretty sure that I have created the procedures (because I tested them
successfully)!! Also things like fields will disappear.
This does not happen all the time and may only affect 1 or 2 buttons/fields.
And I am not smoking any pot!!
Is this a bug of Access 2003 or am I just going insane?
I have used Access 2000 for development before, no problems there!
