Compact database w/ Admin rights

I am using a Windows 2000 operating system with Access
2000. I have administrator priveleges on the local PC. I
have assigned the access database specific user and group
security rights. Every time i compact the database logged
in as an administrator, all my permissions are reset on
the access database only allowing administrator rights. If
a user compacts the database the security remains intact.

Any ideas of why this happens?
